Oltimer series
These oltimer series are split in three series. Cars older than 1973 (Oldtimers), Commercial vehicles older than 1973 (BE), Motorbike oldtimers first had ZM and recently ZF before the numbers, and vehicles between 1974 and 1978 called Youngtimers. (Y-series).
All registrations are original registrations from the 60s, but these where not in use back then.
So they start filling the gaps issueing them as oldtimer series.Various colors are allowed, dark blue, blue, yellow.
Oltimer series have the following letters in the (DE-00-00) format.
1988-DE
1991-DH
1994-DL
1996-DM
1997-DR
1998-AE
1999-AH
2000-AL
2005-AM
Next coming years the following letter combinations shall be used: AR BH BL BM BR
There is a five year gap between 2000 en 2005 this has probably to do with the introduction of the Youngtimer series in 2001.
Oltimer truck series have the following letters in the (BE-00-00) format.
The BE series started in 1988 and is still in use!
Youngtimer series have the YA-YZ series in the (00-YA-00) format. Leaving extra out YO and YW. YA started in 2001, YB in 2004. Again in different allowed colors dark blue, blue, yellow.
US SIZE
Motorbike oldtimer series have the ZM and ZF letters in the (ZM-00-00) format.
The ZM series started in 1988 and then the ZF series started in Nov.2000 and is still in use.
